About Us
To Our Clients,
Thanks for taking the time to explore what we do at Black Lapel. We wanted to share our story directly; not with a templated response, not from a chatbot or faceless team, but from me, Evan.
We may look like a big brand from the outside, but the truth is: it’s just the two of us. No interns. No call center. No junior associates reading off a script. Just two people with over 20 years of experience in custom menswear, personally guiding every client who walks through our (digital) door.
That hands-on, deeply human approach touches everything we do. When you submit measurements, it’s not fed into a cold algorithm. We build your pattern by hand. Real tailoring. Real eyes on your fit. Real experience behind every button placement and jacket curve.
We also don’t just work with a factory—we own a stake in ours. That gives us complete control over quality and the ability to be nimble when it comes to customer service. Every piece is made one at a time. No batching. No mass production. Just your garment, crafted for you, with precision and care.
Most of our competitors use large contracted factories (and if you named a few, chances are they all use the same one). That’s fine if you want average. But if you want something truly yours—built with character, intention, and longevity—well, that’s why we’re here.
I’ve been doing this since 2011. First in our Denver showroom, now online helping folks around the world. I’ve fit thousands of people over the years, and I bring that same experience to every email I answer, every pattern I review, and every customer I support.
We promise our process is about slowing things down to do it right. That’s the core of what we believe in: thoughtful craftsmanship, experience, and personal touch, not automation.
So when you're ready, we're here—not just to make your next garment, but to make it the right way.
Warmly,
