Suit and Tie Combinations for All Seasons
In the early fall we suggest suit and tie combinations that combine wool and silk. As the weather cools and fall makes the transition towards winter, you can start to wear suit and tie combinations made of 100% wool, as in wool ties. While the feel and thickness of wool ties may seem more appropriate for winter than fall, color plays a role too. A wool tie that incorporates fall colors plays better in October than in February.
Below we’ve provided a week’s worth of inspirational suit and tie combinations that are perfect for fall featuring the fall 2015 collection of Black Lapel suits and some of our favorite fall-appropriate ties available from our friends at Freshneck.

Also Wednesday’s description is wrong. Otherwise beautiful combinations, ideal for Spring. Are knitted ties is more for sunny weather or for winter?
Thanks, Alain. All is fixed. Knitted ties can be worn year round, so their seasonal appropriateness will depend on the color.
Great article! I found this very interesting as it gives me some good ideas for Spring. Would you recommend a knitted tie for Spring?
We would and we have 🙂 Check back to Thursday’s suit and tie combination.
Great ideas! Thanks a lot.
Sure thing, Alain. May the spring weather be ever in your favor.
Monday and Thursday descriptions the wrong way around, I’m afraid, gentlemen!
Yep, we caught that too! Should be correct now 🙂
When you will give us combinations for spring?
Coming soon, Alain. Stay tuned. We’ll be releasing the spring edition of this story later this April. If you’re not already subscribed to Compass emails, sign up now so you don’t miss this or any other stories.
Absolutely love this series, some great ideas – though difficult not to daydream of having a closet full of all of your suits! Keep up the good work
Glad we could help you come up with more ways to wear what you’ve got. And, hey, if you want to add to your collection, all of the ties are available from Freshneck and the suits are available from…well…us!
“These “one of these things is not like the other” outfits are a fashion transgression that we find acceptable because it’s cold out there.”
Why not a nice hat?
A nice hat is always an option, Jovan. Sadly, so few men own one they’re forced to wear something that hurts their style just to keep warm. Those in the know, have a trusty tribly, porkpie, fedora, or snap brim handy.

Great article.
Thank you John. Stay cool.
