We’re excited to share that Ratio Clothing accounts have now been moved to Black Lapel. While the website address has changed, the people, the craftsmanship, and your personalized sizing remain exactly the same.

This change is simply a consolidation of our online presence. For almost three years, the same state-of-the-art workshop has been producing garments for both Ratio Clothing and Black Lapel. Now, we’re bringing everything together under one roof so we can focus our energy on delivering you the very best custom clothing experience.

What's staying the same?

  • All your saved measurements, patterns, and fit preferences have been securely transferred to Black Lapel.
  • The same highly skilled artisans have been making Ratio and Black Lapel garments for years — nothing changes here.
  • The Ratio team you’ve known for over a decade is still here, now fully integrated into the Black Lapel operation.
  • Many of your favorite fabrics are still available, as Ratio’s former merchandising manager now leads Black Lapel’s fabric and product selection.

Why the Change?

By combining our efforts under Black Lapel, we can:

  • Offer a wider selection of products and fabrics in one place, including the a full suite of custom items online (suits, overcoats, trousers, and of course shirts).
  • Improve site performance and make your shopping experience smoother, as we're now on the Shopify platform.
  • Continue investing in the same workshop and craftspeople who make your garments.

What happened to my Ratio Clothing account?

Your account has been moved to BlackLapel.com. All your sizing blueprints, past order history, and saved preferences are preserved.

Do I need to create a new account?

No. You can log in to Black Lapel using your existing Ratio account email. If it’s your first time logging into the new site, you may just need to reset your password or receive a login code.

Will my sizing and fit preferences still be correct?

Yes. All your measurements and patterns have been transferred exactly as they were. We still use the same workshop and processes you’re familiar with since August 2023.

If your most recent order was before then, we'll help calibrate your fit at the new maker with complimentary alterations.

Are the garments still made in the same place?

Absolutely. The same workshop has been making Ratio and Black Lapel garments for over two years.

Will I still find the fabrics I love?

Many of Ratio’s most popular fabrics are now available at Black Lapel. In fact, Ratio’s merchandising manager now runs Black Lapel’s fabric program.

Plus, our current maker has access to hundreds of thousands of world-class fabrics, allowing us to expand our collection even further.

What if I have a question about an old Ratio order?

We have all your history on file. Whether it’s from Ratio or Black Lapel, we can access the details and help with any questions.

Who do I contact for customer service?

We will continue to monitor the inbox for both Ratio Clothing and Black Lapel, but your fastest response will come from emailing Concierge@BlackLapel.com
